I am officially a video star! Can you believe that I have my own video? It's set to that perfect shelter dog song "Somebody to love" and in it you can see what a great dog I always try to be! It really shows my personality, my intelligence, and yes my absolute beauty! Sorry, I don't mean to brag. My pen pal cried when she watched it, said it really showed how intent I am on pleasing my leader. I have really bonded with her and check in with her even when I run around like a nut. Once I settle into a home with someone (will it be you?) I will give you that same respect and love!
In the video I shopw off my obedience training, play for a while and then settle down for some cuddles. I like my video and hope it will help me find a home!

I'm gonna be in the movies!
Hi
I am very excited because today a volunteer is going to work with my pen pal and they are going to videotape me for a video about adopting me. I always knew I could be a star someday and now I will get my chance to shine!
Every couple days I continue to meet with my pen pal and we keep working on all my commands. The other day I was complimented on how quickly I drop down when I am told to lay down! I also had a chance to play with volunteers and interact with Kayla, my pen pal's daughter. She lets me get up in her lap and give her kisses!
I love her! In fact I really enjoy kids. Sunday I was at an eventy at a place called Buzzy's Bow Wow and there were a whole bunch of kids that came over to pet me and play with me. I even rolled over and got a belly rub! I love belly rubs! I just wish I lived in a home where I could get them all the time. Could you take me home? I am a good boy and a great dog, everybody says so. Pick me to be your next family member and I promise you won't regret it!

Can Anybody Find Me Somebody to Love
Hey I like that song! I want that more than anything else in the world! More than treats, more than peanut butter stuffed Kongs! Even more than hanging out with my pen pal. I want to find a home. So in the never ending search for a home, we have placed Craig's List ad's in Lancaster and Reading. If you are reading my blog because of one of those ads - welcome to my blog. On here I tell all about the work I'm doing to become the perfect dog! Tonight I am going jogging and then I'm gonna work on my drop it skills. Everytime I drop my toy right away on command I am rewarded. I like that, and anyway they can't throw the ball for me if I don't let them have it, can they?
I will be at Pet Smart on the Roosevelt Boulevard (Chickie & Pete's, Target shopping center) on Saturday from 11-3. I will be showing off all my skills and letting everyone know what a great boy I can be! Please stop by to meet me and see for yourself!
Anyone who is interested should look through my older posts and/or conatct my pen pal at adoptcassanova@gmail.com

My, uuuummmm, Personal Ad
Today I took out an ad on something called Craig's list. I told people that I was a single, caramel coated cutie looking for a long term relationship. I'm sooo embarrased, my pen pal's husband said I should be ashamed but...if it helps me find a home I'm all for it.
If you are here because of the ad, thanks for checking me out. I see other personal ads and they say things about the person's age, color or race, their interests, their views so I'm gonna tell you about myself.
I am about 16 months old. My breed is pit mix. I am never going to be a big, or extra large dog. I would be considered medium to large. I am very affectianate and learn very quickly. I enjoy walks, long walks, short walks, whatever, I mostly just like being out of my kennel right now. I have been fixed, which means two things.. 1 I will be able to come home with you as soon as you adopt me and 2 I will never get in trouble with the ladies! I am very easy going and I'm open minded about your views. I don't know republican from Democrat, liberal from...whatever. As long as you don't support Breed Specific Legislation or dog fighting, we have no problems.
I know sometimes people are all about looking for a good time. Not me - I'm in it for the long haul and don't mind saying so. I want a long term realtionship. I want a family to call my own. It's okay if the family is just you and me, it's okay if our family includes kids, I can even handle it if you want a cat! But I need a family and I need it now. I don't mean to rush things, I know it's better to go slow but I am on the urgent list at the shelter and need to get out. there are sooo many dogs like me here and not enough space. Please help me and in doing so, help the others.
Thanks for considering me!

Adoption Event
Hi everybody!
For the first time ever I was allowed to go to an adoption event! This means that I, along with a small group of other dogs hung out at the Pet Smart and met people who might be interested in adopting us!
Early in the morning my pen pal came to get me, but I wasn't in my regular spot in the kennels, Nope, I was in the recovery area because I was "fixed"! Now I didn't think I was broken but they say this is a good thing. Anyway, then we spent some time walking arouns and I was excited to see her and her whole family. Then, whoa! I was getting in a car. I have to say, I loved the ride. It was pretty relaxing riding in that car, I even fell asleep on her lap!
When we got to Pet Smart we went to the back of the store and hung out. All day I showed off for anyone who stopped by. Sit, stay, lay down, I did it all, but no one took me :{ hen near the end this really nice woman started talking to my pen pal and giving me alot of attention. She said she was really a cat person but that she was really in love with me. My pen Pal explained how long I've been at the shelter and all of the special bonuses she would get if she decided to adopt me. Like I come with obedience trainig, and my pen pal loves me so she offered to work with me as well if the woman ends up adopting me. The woman's daughter and grandson was there and I was very good with them, The little boy and I got along very well and he climbed into a dog house and invited me in. I wish someone would invite me to their house! At the end of the event, the woman took ny information and promised to get back to my pen pal with an answer one way or the other. I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope that she adopts me because I don't want to be called "the longest resident at the shelter" I want to be called "the newest member of the family"

Another Day With my Pen Pal
The day before yesterday my pen pal came in to get me out of my kennel for awhile. It was too cold to spend much time outside but we sat in the lifesaving office (hunh, I'm wondering about that) and we worked on my commands. I remembered everything perfectly and she was quite proud!
Then we had other dogs, puppies really come in and I met them. I wanted to play but I still sat when I was told to, and I laid down and I gave kisses and I totally did not get crazy about the puppy! Yay me!`I heard my pal say she wants to take me to an adoption event and I really hope I get to go because I'm very sad that I'm still here. Maybe I'll find a fur ever home. Maybe it will be you! Plerase contact my pen pal and set up a meet I want my own homew very badly!

It's New Years!
Well today is a holiday, which seems to mean alot to people. It just means another day that I've been in the shelter. We're nearing 8 months now, so when people say Happy New Year I can only think "I sure hope so!"
Yesterday my pen pal's whole family came to the shelter1 I got love and attention from all 3 of them! I sure wish they didn't already have a full house because they are great to be around and they seem sad when they leave me, and they make me sooo happy I don't want them to be sad.
Some dog's got out of the shelter yesterday, people came around and looked in the cages and said who they wanted to look at. Then they took them home. I want soooo bad to be one of those dogs! My pen pal had somebody who was willing to consider me but I forgot my manners and started jumping around in my cage, that's not who I am! I just really really want someone to give me a chance. If you come to the shelter, don't pay any attention to how I act in my cage. I will sit when I'm told, lay down, give my paw. And I'm much calmer and settle down really quickly once out of my kennel.
Yesterday I hung out for a bit in the office and sat and laid down while people walked in and out. Being calm with all that going on around me is not something I used to be able to do but I'm learning, I'm learning!
I'm getting used to my gentle leader more every time. I used to fight it when it was first used on me but now I'm used to it and only paw at it a few times! Then we walk around and around and I don't pull at all! I think I like it now! It helps me behave and get lots of treats. I like treats. And my pen pal sings while we walk. She changed the words to Cowboy Cassanova by Carrie Underwood and made it all about me! There will be a post that is just that song because I like being a star! My pen pal says she's going to post it on Face Book and start putting me on craig's List. This means she think's I'm ready to find a home! I've been ready for a long time, glad that now my behaviour is good enough that I'll have a real chance. Will you give me the chance?
